RECORDING
EXPECTATIONS

GUIDELINES

Now that you've been selected as a feature alum, it's time for you to record your video. Please follow the guidelines below in order to produce a quality video. Thank you for sharing your story.

  1. Use a quality cell phone camera to film video

  2. The length of the video must be 5-7 minutes in length

  3. Record with the camera turned at a horizontal orientation

  4. Ensure that the phone audio is at its highest volume level

  5. Record in a quiet area

  6. Make sure to place the phone on Do Not Disturb

  7. Record in a well lit area

  8. Do not film with the main light source behind your head. This creates a dark silhouette of the person being recorded

  9. Make sure you are facing the light source instead

  10. Avoid recording in front of windows

  11. Alumni will submit their videos using the link they were provided when they were notified of their selection

  12. The video will be edited by the project video editor selected by the committee

  13. Using the provided link, the featured alum is encouraged to upload up to 30 photos that will be incorporated into the video

  14. Do not submit blurry photos

  15. Digital photos must be no less than a 300 dpi resolution

  16. When recording, wear solid, non-distracting colors and well-fitting, comfortable clothes

  17.  Do not wear busy patterns, fine stripes, or logos that can cause a moiré effect (wavy pattern) or distract viewers.

  18. Avoid wearing shiny materials and jingly jewelry that can reflect light or make noise
